Abstracts and Posters

Abstract submission

Abstract submission is open. Submit your abstract here.

Deadlines for abstract submission:
June 13, 2019 for abstracts aimed as contributed talks and posters
July 03, 2019 for abstracts aimed as posters only

A small number of abstracts will be selected for contributed talks during the main conference. Please note the earlier submission deadline for authors applying for a talk. All accepted abstracts will be published online and will be citable via Digital Object Identifiers (DOI).

Selection of contributed talks

The contributed talks will be selected in a (double-)blind review process. Please design your abstract accordingly and ensure that no author or affiliation identifiers are included. Cite all relevant prior work (including your own) only in the passive voice or in the third person (for example, “It has been shown that… [1]” or "They have shown that... [1]”), do not use the words “my” or “our”, and do not include references to funding sources.

Abstracts that have not been properly anonymized cannot be considered for contributed talks.

Posters will be presented in two sessions on Wednesday and Thursday.

Poster size: A0 portrait (84,1cm width x 118,9 cm height)

Poster strips for mounting posters will be provided. Posters can be put up from 2:00 pm on Wednesday and from 8:30 am on Thursday for the correspondent poster session. Please make sure to take the posters down after your session. The conference staff will remove all posters that are not taken down. Posters which are not picked up at the registration desk by Friday, September 20, 1:00 pm will be disposed of.

Travel Grants

To support the participation of young researchers in the Bernstein Conference, the Bernstein Coordination Site (BCOS) offers 10 Travel Grants, each endowed with 500 €. Please find further information here.

Please note

  • As poster space is limited early submission is encouraged
  • Submitted abstracts can be edited until the deadline
  • Abstract submission does not replace conference registration! All abstract submitters also have to register for the conference
  • Invitation letters for visa can only be issued for participants who are registered and have already paid the conference fee
