Main Conference, Workshops and Public Lecture:

The conference venue “Neue Universität”, Grabengasse 3-5, with the Universitätsplatz (University Square) in front, is located in the middle of Heidelberg’s beautiful historic town center. The university building hosts the lecture hall “Neue Aula”, the workshop rooms and “Hörsaal 13”, the venue of the public lecture.

Conference Dinner:

The “Heidelberger Kulturbrauerei”, Leyergasse 6, is located east of the congress venue in Heidelberg’s historical town center near the river Neckar (within walking distance - 750m).

PhD Symposium:

The symposium venue Psychologisches Institut, Hauptstraße 47-51, is only a 9 minutes' walk away from Neue Universität (distance 700 m).

 

 

How to reach the main conference venue "Neue Universität"

Arrival by plane:

The nearest airport is Frankfurt/Main International (www.frankfurt-airport.com). From many cities in the US and Canada, direct flights go to Frankfurt. The train ride from Frankfurt airport to Heidelberg takes approximately one hour and may involve changing trains either at Frankfurt main station or in Mannheim. Other airports not too far away are Stuttgart (www.flughafen-stuttgart.de) and Frankfurt-Hahn (www.hahn-airport.de).

When arriving in Stuttgart Airport, take the local trains S2 or S3 to Stuttgart Hauptbahnhof. From there, the trains go either directly to Heidelberg Hauptbahnhof, or you have to change trains in Mannheim.

From Frankfurt-Hahn, buses go to Heidelberg Hauptbahnhof.

Arrival by train:

If you come by train, you will arrive at Heidelberg Hauptbahnhof (central station). You can find your train connections and even book your ticket online on the homepage of Deutsche Bahn (German Railways, http://www.bahn.de/i/view/USA/en/index.shtml). From Heidelberg main station, buses go to the conference venue.

Public transport from Heidelberg main station:

There are different bus lines from Heidelberg main station to the venue.

Bus line RNV 32, direction "Universitätsplatz", is a direct connection to the conference venue (travel time 13 minutes).

With bus line 34, direction "Heiligkreuzsteinach/Marktplatz", you have to change buses at "Bismarckplatz" (bus stop platform E) and get on bus line RNV 31 (bus stop platform C), direction "Universitätsplatz" (travel time 16 minutes). You may also take bus line 720, direction "Bismarckplatz", change buses at "Bismarckplatz" (bus stop platform H) and get on bus line RNV 31 (bus stop platform C), direction "Universitätsplatz" (travel time 14 minutes).

Arrival by car:

You approach the city from the motorways A5 and A6 .

Coming from the A5 (Karlsruhe-Frankfurt), change to A656 to Heidelberg at motorway junction Heidelberg. Coming from the A6 (Mannheim-Heilbronn), change to A656 to Heidelberg at motorway junction Mannheim.

At the end of the A656, in "Speyererstraße", take the exit marked "Altstadt (Old Town Center) / Schloss (castle)", pass Heidelberg main station and head towards "Schloss", then drive along "Kurfürstenanlage" to "Adenauerplatz". Having passed "Adenauerplatz", go straight on into "Gaisberg-Tunnel", pass it and stay on this road. In front of the second tunnel get in the left-hand lane, following signs to "Parkhaus 11" (Universitätsbibliothek/underground garage), the nearest parking possibility to the venue.

Please note that parking space in the city center is limited and usually chargeable. The online car-park routing system of Heidelberg’s center shows you all parking possibilities near to the venue.
