Hector Institute for Translational Brain Research founded

By 7.5 million euros funding from the Hector Stiftung II, the Hector Institute for Translational Brain Research (HITBR) was established in December 2015 (March 2016).

The HITBR is a joint institution of the Central Institute of Mental Health (ZI) in Mannheim, the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ) in Heidelberg and the Hector Stiftung II. With the help of stem cell and Computational Neuroscience research neural changes in mental disorders will be examined. Managing director of HITBR is Andreas Meyer-Lindenberg (BCCN Heidelberg-Mannheim), Chairman of the Executive Board of the ZI.
