Course on Computational Neuroscience for the fourth time in Göttingen
An international workshop on the topic of "Computational Neuroscience" from 26 to 30 September attracts young scientists from all over Europe and outside of Europe to Göttingen. Four high-ranking scientists from Germany and the US will introduce the participants to the latest developments in the field of computational neuroscience. The participants of the course come from experimental and theoretical institutes in roughly equal proportions; this mix will make for synergic effects and, in any case, lively debates in the course of common learning (September 2006).
First BCCN Summer School in Munich
The first BCCN Summer School organized by the Bernstein Center for Computational Neuroscience in Munich took place in Herrsching at Lake Ammersee from 20 to 22 July 2006. Most of the around 20 participants came from various research institutions in Munich; they had the opportunity to gain an insight into a particular aspect of Computational Neuroscience and to make new contacts and debate with colleagues in a relaxed atmosphere (July 2006).
Bernstein Partner
Further projects concerning the topic "computational neuroscience" have recently been evaluated positively by an international expert group. These projects are divided in "Bernstein Groups" and "Bernstein Partners" and can now apply for a grant. After passing this second evaluation they will be affiliated into the national network of computational neuroscience (2006).
